April 25, 2015 Pickup

Picked up some good games yesterday. I haven’t really gotten anything in a while. So just like the Atari Fridays, let’s try and get this going again as well.

Picked up 5 NES games: Rad Racer 2, Videomation, Star Trek 25th Anniversary, Gotcha!, and To The Earth. They all have pretty nice labels. With the return of my old big box tv out of storage, I was all set and psyched up to start grabbing all the light gun games I could find.

I also grabbed Rock N’ Roll Racing for the SNES, with manual, in pretty nice condition. So, I have to get the Retron hooked up again.

September 20, 2014 Pickup

Alright, finally a week where we get something cool. We’ll start with the NES cartridges.

A couple of super-cheap commons: Silent Service, Pin Bot, Roller Ball and Roller Games. The less common Double Dragon 2 I was happy to get after a guy snatched it from me after I had already pulled it from a stack last time, but I don’t fight people. Lastly, something rarer called Zen Intergalactic Ninja, because who doesn’t love alien space ninja’s?

Moving on we have a boxed copy of Turrican for the Sega Genesis. It’s not often I pick up Atari 2600 games, but I saw some I had to have. We have Starmaster, Carnival, Centipede, Dig Dug, Jungle Hunt, and Congo Bongo.

Alright, sorry this is about a week later, but here is some cool stuff I picked up last week.

Boxed copies of Wheel of Fortune and Robodemons for NES. mostly complete, Wheel of Fortune is missing the manual but has a poster. Tron Deadly Discs for the Atari 2600. Plus, Sonic Shuffle for Dreamcast.

Also got this Dragon Quest 3 for Famicom.

And a whole stack of Atari 2600 Manuals I didn’t have. (Sorry, I always have issues holding a camera steady.)

July 16th, 2014 Lincoln Trip Pickup

Alright, I haven’t done one of these too much lately, I got a day off from work (or rather a day moved which allowed a normal day off), so me and the gf actually had days off match up. We decided to use this to take a trip on down to Lincoln where the game stores usually have a much better retro selection thanks to all the college kids. No trip to Lincoln is complete without the mandatory visit to Ivanna Cone. We also had lunch at Lincolns brand new Ramen Shop, AmuManu Ramen Bar. It was a fun day, I may have to use vacation time to do this more often. Anyways, on to the part of the trip you are all here to see. What did I pick up this time…?

First off, the NES carts, the part the whole trip was for. Just in case you can’t read the labels here is what they are: Taboo The Six Sense, Fester’s Quest, Star Force, Cybernoid: The Fighting Machine (edited, I honestly thought it was Xbernoid), Destiny Of An Emperor, Rocky & Bullwinkle & Friends, Monster Party, Shadowgate, Kid Niki, The Legend of Kage, and Wrath Of The Black Manta.

Next is a nice little miscellaneous list.  We have Gangster Town for the Sega Master System; don’t you just love the simple and sometimes childish box art they used for this system? .hack//gu for the PS2 which I have been searching for, it doesn’t have the manual but I give up at this point. Demolition Man and Metal Combat, both for the Super Nintendo. Finally, the three Atari 2600 games I grabbed: Alien, Plaque Attack, and Space Shuttle. I promise to get back on the play reviews eventually. What’s even better is that they were really nice enough to include this highly desirable collectible item soon to be worth a ton of money……a Blockbuster shopping bag! yeah, I know you wish you had one too.

And now we finally hit the end of this adventure with the few non game goodies. only two this time. Simply a PlayStation One (possibly 2, it did even have a PS2 console manual inside of it) Console Bag, and the Donkey Kong Jenga game I’ve been keeping an eye out for.

May 17, 2014 Pickup

I’m seriously trying to get back into this and be more on time with it. The current update is a few things I happened to pick up not too long ago. Two boxed games: Captain Comic and Treasure Master. Along with cart only Caveman Games and Ninja Kid.

December 15, 2013 Pickup

Alright, some of the things I picked up this weekend.

The first big one is I picked up a PS4 Sunday. So that’s going to be fun. Also, I have completely zero desire to touch an Xbone.

Anyways, here’s all the cool retro stuff you want to see.

An NES Power Pad, tested and working as best as I can tell with World Class Track Meet. Oh boy, does it make me realize I’m not fit enough for prolonged activity though.

I got a box for my Clash at Demonhead the girlfriend got me last year. making it CIB.

And look here at this cool old Nintendo product, a Super Mario Bros Dixie cup holder.

November 6, 2013 Pickup

I got three NES games yesterday before D&D for relatively cheap (my favorite part of retro gaming, the mass amounts of $5 games).

Picked up Ikari Warriors 2, My girlfriend and Obsessive Compulsive Gamer just oh so love the first one. Also grabbed two power glove games (even though I do not have a power glove), Super Glove Ball and Bad Street Brawler.

I also raided the used bookstore clearance section for a few items. A couple PS2 games; Medal of Honor Frontline, Hitman, and a better copy of Metal Gear Solid 2. Plus, two strategy guides for Resident Evil 5 and Fable III.

October 13, 2013 Pickup

Nothing super amazing. I just grabbed two things I saw this Sunday while out and about.

First on is Exodus, an unlicensed Wisdom Tree NES game. The other is Double Dash, the only Mario Kart game I didn’t own yet.
